General information
Scope and processing of personal data
We only collect and use personal data from our users insofar as this is necessary for providing a functional website as well as our content and services. If this is not the case, personal data is only used with the consent of the user. An exception applies in cases where prior consent cannot be obtained for practical reasons and the processing of data is permitted by legal regulations.
Legal basis for processing
Where we obtain consent from the data subject for processing personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.
For the processing of personal data necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
Where processing of personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis.
In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.
If processing is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of our company or a third party and the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not override the former interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing. The legitimate interest of our company lies in conducting our business activities.
Routine deletion and blocking of personal data
We process and store personal data of the data subject only for as long as is necessary to achieve the storage purpose. Storage may also take place insofar as this is provided for by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject. Once the storage purpose ceases to apply or a prescribed storage period expires, personal data is routinely blocked or deleted.
Security of your data
During your website visit, we use the widespread SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in combination with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. Typically, this is 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. We expressly point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g., when communicating by email) can have security gaps and cannot be fully protected against access by third parties.
We also employ appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
Usage data
Log files
Each time the website is accessed, we or the page provider automatically collect data and information through an automated system. These are stored in the server's log files. Server log files contain anonymized data that does not allow conclusions to be drawn about you personally, but is technically essential for the delivery and display of our content.
The following data may be collected:
- Information about the browser type and version used
- The user's operating system
- The user's Internet service provider
- The user's IP address
- Date and time of access
- Websites from which the user's system reached our website (referrer)
The legal basis for the temporary storage of log files is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable the delivery of the website to the user's computer. The user's IP address must be stored for the duration of the session.
Storage in log files is carried out to ensure the functionality of the website. The data also serves to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. No evaluation of the data for marketing purposes takes place in this context.
In the event of data being stored in log files, users' IP addresses are anonymized so that assignment of the calling client is no longer possible.
The collection of data for providing the website and the storage of data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. Consequently, there is no possibility of objection on the part of the user.
Cookies
Our pages use cookies (session cookies and permanent cookies). Cookies are small text files stored in your Internet browser's cache on your hard drive for the duration of your browser session. Cookies enable the recognition of the Internet browser so that content tailored to your needs can be provided more quickly on future visits to our website. We use technically necessary cookies to serve our legitimate interest in providing an attractive and user-friendly website. The cookies do not store any personal data.
Marketing or tracking cookies are only used if you expressly consent to their use. We request your consent via the cookie banner that appears at the beginning of your use of our website, which informs you about our cookie policy and gives you the choice to refuse or grant your consent for all or certain types of cookies.
If you grant us consent, the legal basis for processing personal data is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
The stored cookies do not allow the assignment of usage behavior to a specific or identifiable person. Where cookies are used, encrypted numbers are assigned to them. The cookies do not contain names, IP addresses, addresses, or other personal data.
You can set your browser so that cookies are only accepted with your consent. Existing cookies can be deleted. However, disabling cookies may limit the usability of our website.
Social plugins of social networks
As part of our website, we use links to our pages on the social networks Facebook, LinkedIn, and GitHub ("networks"). You can recognize the links by the respective logo; clicking on them will redirect you to our profile on the respective network.
To protect your data as effectively as possible, the buttons are integrated in such a way that they are only activated when you click on the button with the logo of the relevant network. Only when activated by clicking the logo button is a connection to the servers of the respective social network established. Simply visiting the page does not transfer any data.
When a button is activated, your browser establishes a direct connection to the server of the respective network operator. The operator transmits the content of the link directly to your browser, which integrates it into the web page. The network operator thus receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website.
For details on the purpose and scope of data collection as well as the further processing and use of data by the networks, please refer to the data protection notices of the respective network operator:

If the data subject contacts the controller through one of these channels, the personal data transmitted by the data subject is automatically stored. This storage serves solely for the purpose of processing or contacting the data subject. The data is not shared with third parties.
